Double Entry with CFL Congress 1
Double and cross entry is most certainly allowed between CFL Novice Speech and CFL Congress 1. Please note that the Novice Eligibility rules found in the CFL Membership Code found here are still applicable.

Remember that rounds will overlap. It is the responsibility of the student to move from round to round efficiently. We will not rerun rounds if a student misses their speech or misses half of a Congress Session. This also includes Extemp Prep. Students will not receive extra time to Prep for any reason. We will work with students who would like to compete in both Tournaments and do our best to ensure that they are scheduled in their speech round in a way that allows them to compete in Congress and make it in time to speak.

JUDGING:

Please provide 1 judge for every 4 entries or 1 unaffiliated judge for every 12 entries. If you have unaffiliated judges please email jharris@mitty.com so that we can keep track of them and mark you as having fulfilled your judge burden.

*** Coaches Note: If you are assigned judges to AM and PM shifts, the tabroom website will not adjust your judging requirements based on those half day shifts. This means if you owe the tournament 4 full day judges you will need 4 AM judges and 4 PM judges for a total of 8 individuals. Or any combination of shifts that satisfies your total number of full day judge requirements. ***

If this is your first time judging, that is OK! Many of our judges will be first time judges this weekend. For a detailed description of the speech events and how to judge them look over this Judging Speech Events document. Feel free to look over this Judge’s Training Slideshow as a quick reference guide.

We request all judges review this Cultural Competence Judge Training document, created by the NSDA to ensure the most equitable environment possible.

***ALL JUDGES & COMPETITORS MUST HAVE A LINKED TABROOM ACCOUNT! This is non-negotiable.***

ENTRY / TOURNAMENT PROCEDURE:

Registration should be completed via Tabroom. All competitors will initially be placed on a Waitlist and will be removed from the Waitlist once you enter judges to fulfill your school's judging burden.

*** Coaches Note: This is a NOVICE tournament. Varsity students should be registered for the League Speech 2 Tournament help on Sunday Nov. 3rd. The criteria for being a Novice competitor can be found in our league bylaws section XIII.2 ***

The registration deadline for entries and judges is Thursday October 26 at 8:00pm. Drops after this date will be assessed a late fee.
